Thank you John! I only had the pleasure of racing in the UK once (1974 @ Tatem Park), but it is a memory that I've cherished forever.

Thanks for the info John, but where you said the shade of blue, all I recieved was a long perforated line.
I have coloured some of your photo`s, of Cricklewood as sky blue, but I can alter them now.
If you could arrange for a future addition to your exellent site, the colours of the other clubs of the 1950`s era.
If I can get my daughter to send an email photo of one I have done, I will do !
Colours of Cricklewood (Broadway) were blue jerseys with a white band. I suggest the blue was not quite dark blue, but darker than pale or sky blue if you get me..?

Colour of Cricklewood club jerseys in 1950`s please ----- Colouring exersize !
My introduction to roller skating, was in 1935. With a pair of Woolworth skates that clipped on with a key. A group of us eight year olds decided to do
something different, instead of using our coats for goal posts and a knock about. On the only a flat piece road, a few pieces of flat wood was produced + a hammer + bent nails. Soon a few hockey sticks were made. No cars about then, so that was our introduction to quad skating. The game finished when somebodies mother called him in for his tea, and he took the tennis ball, with him !

I am an old Rochester United hockey player from the 1950`s. we played in the Kent league.
I remember Dennis Hill, who came to our club at Rochester Casino, for a 5 mile race. It started off alright, then Dennis Hill began to skate really fast.
so fast that he lapped everyone but one of our best fast skaters, Peter Wimble. I remember it well as if it was yesterday !
I have only just found this site. I have done a few `posts` in talkrollerhockey.net
Hi Roy... I've done as you say and posted it in the "rinks" section
Hi JC i posted a photo taken in the early sixties of some B'ham skaters outside of the herne bay rink , as i have not seen any pics of the herne bay rink perhaps you could use it on your rink/venues section, just a thought cheers Roy
Hi Nick...any pictures you have of old rinks, fel free to post them on here!! As for the DJ at the Mecca, I believe it was Les Ross...later to become the BRMB DJ in Birmingham..

Wow, A good friend of mine sent me a few photograps of Roller Skating Rinks around and about, a few good years ago. The particular one I was interested in was the Spring Hill (Mecca) Rink C.1967. I started going in 1965 until about 1971, I think, I am afraid the grey matter doesn't work so well these days. But fond memories of going evry week, Special Nights, Like Haloween, the music was great, Remember Sk8ing to Len Barry 123, Martha Reeves & the Vandelas, Live music with Raymond Froggett, Can't quite remember the DJ. Back then we used to do figure of eights, barrel Jumping and some all nighters, grea memories I used to go with a mate who lived in Ebly Road, Handsworth Wood, Paul Davie ?
Thanks for your kind words! Zandvoorde has always been an excellent race meet where British youngsters can sample real international and high level competitions first hand. Not only that but the Zandvoorde club also excel with hospitality which makes the event that little bit more enjoyable... Long may the event continue and long may the UK support it...!!

A very nice website with a lot of information. Hopefully this will encourage the youngsters in Britain to do even better then in the past and then we would be glad to welcome them in Zandvoorde again !!
