I see that a member is near my age.  A  Mr. Roy Coopey, he may have similar memories as me, coming from London.

I thought that Dennis Hill was an outstanding speed skater. I joined in the practice sessions on a Sunday morning, but I was not very good at the speed skating. Roller hockey I liked best !

You mean RON Coopey... Ron was a elite speed skater in the 1950's, representing Great Britain at the World Championships in Monfalcone, Italy in 1951 (where I will be on Sunday by pure coincidence).  I interviewed Denis Hill about 12 months ago.  His mind is razor sharp and his memory of events even more so...

Some sad news... I found out last week that Ron Coopey had passed away.  I had always planned to go and see him but things simply overtook me. It just shows that the saying "never put off till tomorrow what you can do today" is so true in this case. I have updated his profile.
