About Me

I am a bog standard, Mr Average, which included my speed skating with Southsea Roller Speed Club from 1960 to about 1978! I have kept up my skating to a degree and can still whizz round a track, although my legs are a bit shaky!!! I still have the same skates that I had then (Italian Star skates, given to me by John Toy, and a pair of Jimmy Greaves football boots made especially without the studs! I am touring the UK now, seeing all the places that I never got to before, and searching out all the skating rinks I can. It would be marvellous to hear from any of my old friends in the skating world.

HI Pete, yes John Toy is still around and i think that he's still with Joan , I saw him at a filling station recently and sadly he didn't recognise me, strange as we were good mates and travelled ,trained together for years, he plays bridge now i was told and is probably in his late seventies as he is a few years older than me, if you click on the commented photos we are on there sitting by the beach !! wall, Roy

Hi Peter! Thanks for the note. I'm obviously still finding my way around my own site as I've only just found out I've got a message from you. Thanks for the kind words. Glad you like it. Spread the word!!
All the best
